USO Naples welcomed the “Ike”
July 13 - July 15, 2010

The aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) made its final port visit in our Bella Napoli before heading back home after a long 6-month deployment. The USO Naples and its Volunteer Committee were there to greed the crew and to provide various services including free calling cards, cellular phones to call home for free, care packages, local information and tours.

Gary Sinise and the LT Dan Band rocked the NSA!

The CSI: NY star Gary Sinise and his band, the LT Dan Band, offered a free concert in the Central Park at the Support Site Base dedicated to the troops and families from our NSA community. The band featured a great variety of tunes that made everybody dance and have a great time!

Medal of Honor Recipient visited NSA Naples

The USO Naples was proud to host a living hero, Medal of Honor recipient, U.S. Air Force Col. (ret.) Leo K. Thorsness. Thorsness received the military’s highest honor from an engagement as a F-105 pilot during a surface-to-air missile suppression mission over North Vietnam in 1967. He was shot down two weeks later and spent six years as a prisoner of war. During his visit, Thorsness met with the NSA leadership, and paid a special visit to the Naval Hospital where sailors had the opportunity to chat with the war hero.

USO Naples Volunteer wins USO Volunteer of the 4th Quarter for the European Region

USO Naples Volunteer, LSSN May Grace Enjambre has won Volunteer of the 4th Quarter for the European Region. During the past 2 years May Grace has shown an incredible commitment for the USO, reaching over 150 hrs of volunteer time, helping with community programs and assisting in transit passengers after hours in the USO Lounge. The USO Naples Team is much honored to have May Grace in its volunteer force!

USO Super Spouse Program

The USO Naples is looking for outgoing and enthusiastic Spouses to join this special group and volunteer to support the USO with a variety of events.
USO Super Spouses will have the opportunity to help for specific USO events such as ‘Taste of Home Nights’, Sweets and Treats Spouse Coffee and other special programs. Super Spouses will benefit from special USO initiatives, discounts and much more!!
